#Modern Physics

2 posts

“Modern physics” is the umbrella term physicists use for everything that emerged after Newton’s mechanics started cracking around 1900 — Einstein’s relativity, quantum mechanics, particle physics, the standard model. The posts collected under this tag cover the experiments that triggered the shift (the photoelectric effect, blackbody radiation, the Michelson-Morley experiment) and the ideas they led to: that space and time bend, that energy comes in discrete packets, and that the universe at small scales is fundamentally probabilistic.
